Hi, I am Jen Kirk, a fine art photographer based just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah.
My passion for photography began in high school when I first experimented with film. However, life took me in a different direction, and I stepped away from pursuing photography full-time. Four years ago, I returned to the art of photography, this time in the digital realm. I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Digital Photography from Southern New Hampshire University. This experience has given me a unique means to express my perspective on the world and to visually narrate stories, much like an author tells tales with words. Even today, I use photography to reflect on both the present and the past. It allows me to communicate what I sometimes struggle to articulate in words, offering an outlet to share how I perceive the world at any given moment. From the beginning, I wanted my images to convey something deeper than mere beauty.
Initially, I focused on capturing subjects that intrigued me. As I grew older, this evolved into a means of telling my family's stories and, in many ways, my own story as well. I am driven to share my perspective with the world, highlighting details that often go unnoticed. I believe that if we could slow down, many of these small wonders would become apparent. When we rush through life, we often miss the beauty in things like the earth glistening after rain or the delicate flutter of a butterfly's wings.

When I’m not working on a photographic project, I enjoy spending time outdoors, embracing all the activities that Utah has to offer throughout the year. I also love reading, listening to music, and spending quality time with my family.
